CSNS first beam on spallation target

A neutron beam was produced at the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) for the first time on August 28.

The achievement is a milestone for the CSNS project as it marks the completion of main construction and the start of the test operation phase.

The national CSNS facility, located in Dongguan, is equiped by Bergoz Instrumentation sensors.

FCTs, ICTs measure the current and charge in CSNS transfer lines. NPCT monitors the RCS current ramping while BB-BPM measures the position during the energy ramp.

High-impedance preamplifiers were designed to capture the beam position from IMP-designed shoebox BPMs.
